People who are rather more than six feet tall and nearly as broad across the shoulders often have uneventful journeys. People jump out at them from behind rocks then say things like, "Oh. Sorry. I thought you were someone else."

Has it been three years already? Damn it must be, can barely believe my eyes.
Three years.
Time sure does fly when you're having fun and things are looking up.
We put a POS into reinforced on Thursday and it came out early this evening, a large Caldari tower with 6 mobile labs, 5 advanced mobile labs and a single experimental lab. A very nice haul if we are successful.
I came in this evening around the time it was due to drop out of reinforced and inquired as to what was going down. I was informed they had a defence fleet consisting of a few battleships, a few carriers, a dreadnought and a few unknown. Mean Coalition were out in force along with some business associates based in Hrondedir.
AsssassinX warped in with his Armageddon to see if they would fight and it turns out they did, we warped in with a sizeable fleet and got the remote reps onto Asss, just in time too as they had engaged with three armageddons, a Harbinger, a Raven and a Thanatos carrier. There was another Thanatos in the shields of the POS but it was game on.
Asss did a great job calling primaries and they fell one by one until just the stricken Thanatos was at our mercy, he was webbed and under severe fire. The combined fleet carried massive DPS and it wasn't long before the Carrier split apart.
All our attentions turned to the POS now and we engaged with our conventional fleet.
After a few minutes the decision was made to bring dreadnoughts onto the field and Keira undocked the Moros. Once the dreads entered siege the POS wasn't long for this universe and soon it exploded, the fleet springing into action to unanchor the labs and scoop them into waiting haulers.
A very slick operation.
NovaKane Incorporated turned three last month and as is becoming customary I totally missed it. But it has been one helluva ride. From small beginnings to capital operations, as my friend Tessa Vaako would say "The future is exciting"

It's good to be Mean
In the Beginning... It was a nice day. -- (Terry Pratchett & Neil Gaiman, Good Omens)
Grand Theft POS
A particularly mouthy resident of one of Eifer's adjacent highsec systems moves his Orca between Emolgranlan and Atgur. Always very well scouted and always leaves with a word or two. Nomi and Mandaro decided to have a butchers at what he was up to in Atgur this evening and it was by chance that a business associate of Mandaro spotted the Orca pilot's POS unanchoring. A cunning plan was set in motion to liberate the POS from under his nose.
While the POS unanchor timer counted down, the pieces moved into place. A business associate of Nomi would be ready cloaked in a transport. Various other assets were in place, along with Keira in a Machariel, to bump the Orca away from the POS.
The counter hit zero and the Orca uncloaks, our transport uncloaks and Keira gets a good head of steam, knocking the Orca off centre.
The POS was scooped and off we went on our merry

This would be the third deployment of the Moros in the space of 5 days and probably the most risky of them all as the POS owners were online and in system.
This particular POS had been scouted before and the mods were the same, however the corp was different which created a bit of confusion. It took us a while to commit to taking out the guns with a Battleship gang so I decided I would try and solo the warp disruptor battery to get the ball rolling.
Now you may be asking why we would be engaging the guns and warp disruptor batteries first? Well, if we deploy our dreads, we would want a support fleet. The warp disruptor battery could prove annoying were a defence fleet dropped on us, so it had to go.
I had warped in, alone and vulnerable, my shields stripped almost instantaneously before I could build up transversal so that the medium and large artillery batteries couldn't track my Armageddon. But once up to speed it was plain sailing. The POS owners were kind enough to position all the defensive modules in a cluster at the top of the tower so it made this rather easy.
At 75% armour Sarvic warped in with his remote rep Dominix and gave me some armour loving, followed by Serenetor and AsssassinX's Guardians. Darthimus then came in with probably the most needy ship in game, the capacitor hungry Abaddon. His crystals had mostly burnt out so I dropped some spares I had.
Eventually we had incapacitated the disruptor and online guns so it was time to focus our attention on the tower. Five Dreadnoughts engaged in the initial siege but with hostile entities in local we sieged red and only did one cycle before removing the dreads to the safety of the station as a hostile interceptor started setting up snipe points.
The POS owners now decided it was time to anchor and online some resistance mods, it seems they were slightly loath to lose a faction large POS tower. But our fleet grew larger with battleships coming out for the fireworks.
With the POS owners doing one or two suicide runs in stealth bombers and the surrounding area seemingly empty the decision was made to bring the dreads back on to the field. The possibility of this escalating into an massive fight had me giddy with anticipation.
With only four dreads and a sizeable support group we continued to rain down on the POS, even as the owners unanchored one of the Advanced mobile labs. They tried to do another but the shield had dropped below the magic 50%, making this attempt futile.
We went through about five siege cycles to drop the large faction tower into reinforced, Keira running low on ammo and myself having burnt out most of the crystals on my mega pulse lasers.
With a time now set for a fight we withdrew the dreads from the field and finished knocking out some offline guns with the support fleet. This whole operation took us a while but was quite entertaining on voice comms.
Now Keira needs to get more stront, more ammo and some new sentry drones as some of hers went walkabout inside the POS forcefield, I need to get some new crystals and hopefully we will be available for round two.

Unlucky
"Luck is my middle name," said Rincewind, indistinctly. "Mind you, my first name is Bad."
-- (Terry Pratchett, Interesting Times)
Been a lazy day, spent most of it watching movies, drinking tea and relaxing. Went out for a spin in Flubber™ to help the Mean crew Hunt for Red October in Eifer but other than that, it was quiet.
Keira was chilling at The Mended Drum when she spotted an Apocalypse running an exploration complex on her scanner, she quickly docked, grabbed her Cheetah and proceeded to probe it out. She hasn't flown the Cheetah in a very, very long time but she quickly narrowed the Amarr battleship down and proceeded to set up a warp in.
I was spoilt for choice, not quite sure which ship to use but settled on my trusty mission jack Pilgrim, a ship I have used to great effect jacking Ravens in Ingunn. Time to dust the old lady off and take her for a spin in the black. As soon as I had undocked Keira reported the Apoc was done with the Angel pirates and had cloaked, I cursed but warped over anyway.
Once out of warp I started to move towards where Keira had last spotted the Apoc, a Helios uncloaked and started hacking the various bits and bobs in the complex, not to allow him the opportunity I uncloaked my Pigrim, at the site of which he bailed.
Back to trying to find that Apoc then. I started to run patterns around the site, initially with drones out but I soon recalled them and cloaked. Back and forth I went, moving to obvious align spots, I moved faster under cloak than the Apoc would so it was only a matter of time and a lot of luck.
After about half an hour the Apoc's luck ran out as he appeared on my overview, two clicks away, I had run right into him.
Lock and load.
My lock resolves, warp scrambler glows green, stasis web and tracking disruptor go live, Neuts set to overload as I settle into an easy 1km orbit. A flight of Hammerhead II drones spew forth and engage the Apoc.
A delicate game of cat and mouse ensued as he would drop drones to try and kill mine, thus eliminating my damage, but eventually I was able to kill the bulk of them, after a few would die he would withdraw his flight, as mine resumed on his ship. He was tanking quite well, even though I had all my energy neutralisers running, must have had a cap booster fitted. My own cap booster was chewing through my 400s just to feed my neuts.
I gave a shout on voice comms, to see if anyone was awake, Dogz, Apothica and Aiko responded, I quickly invited them to fleet and just in time too.
00:00:25 Notify grafs has initiated self-destruct of their Apocalypse, it will explode in 120 seconds.
It was now a race against time, but the Apoc rocked as it started to vent fuel and air into the vacuum, eventually lighting it all up in a massive explosion.
A fine kill, Unlucky for the Apocalypse.
Great teamwork in the end, a pity I was unable to solo him but he was setup quite nicely and his tactics of trying to kill my drones was a good one.
I docked up, a nice cup of Earl Grey my reward for patience and some fortune on my part
What are you going to do with that?
In my previous report I spoke of a new addition to the NovaKane fleet, Keira has been skilling for a new ship and I've been looking closely at auctions and contracts to see what was available.
Last night I pulled the trigger and with Keira's permission we bought a Dreadnought.
What prompted this acquisition? Well, the POS bash we attended a few weeks ago in which Keira's Archon was out-damaged by my Armageddon had her in a strop.
So without further procrastination here she is:

Have not christened her yet, need to come up with an appropriate moniker, any suggestions?

Getting back in the saddle...
The loss of "The Fifth Elephant" plays over and over in my mind. There's so many things I wish I could have done differently but I rest easy in the knowledge that she has been replaced, a new "The Fifth Elephant" sits ready in my hangar.
Pushing back the analysis of my mistakes I board "The Last Continent" a Republic Fleet Firetail, a mistake by Keira whilst out shopping one night. I was looking to do a spot of solo hunting and headed out to my favourite haunt. I was to be sorely disappointed as Eifer was devoid of anything important. There was a Hound in the belts but it was hiding using its cloak.
A fair few minutes past and I received a call from a friend, Viper Sam asked if I'd like to go roaming. I agreed, I needed action and playing hide and go seek with a Hound wasn't it.
I headed home to get "Karma" the second iteration of a very succesful Hurricane battlecruiser.
We went on our merry with very little being reported by our scout. We did eventually trip over a Raven who jumped into us and we snagged the pod for good measure. I love the sound that a pod makes when it pops, it's addictive.
We carried on our merry way and eventually got some action in Bosena, we engaged a Hyperion on the station but he docked as his tank broke, we then moved around system as there were two other gangs, one with fast cruisers and interceptors and another with commandships and a Falcon Recon. We engaged the Astarte, Sleipnir, Megathron and Falcon at a planet but lost our Falcon and the one of our Hurricanes, this effectively took the rest of us out the fight so we disengaged and warped out to a belt to regroup. I landed in the belt and was joined by the cruiser/interceptor gang, I got a point on a Thorax and vapourised the gank fit cruiser in seconds before the rest of our gang exited warp,, the delightful squish of the pod followed. The Thorax's support left the scene quicker than they arrived.
It was getting late so we headed home, a very uneventful night.
Sitting in station intel arrived of a juicy gang in Eifer, we managed to put together a small gang and go spoil for a fight. We took slightly too long and by the time everyone was ready there was little left of the hostiles as it seemed they went back to highsec, there was a report of a Raven still in system along with some other bits and bobs, they were all at different safes so probing would be needed, Keira was only one jump out and moved in, within seconds of dropping the probe she got a hit and we vectored in on the Raven. It seemd the pilot was asleep at the helm and the mighty battleship's hull crumpled under sustained fire, his pod emergency warped out but Keira was on the case and soon he would wake up in a clone vat.
Heading home we found a Moros dreadnought on our home station and without second thought I engaged, I was bored and looking for some fun, I bumped him and he responded by locking me and webbing me, drones were deployed and started to eat my precious shields away. Karma perished soon after but it's not in my nature to not attack things, even if outmatched.
I just had to give it a go :D
